over、across 和through 这三个单词，在考试中，经常以单项选择题的形式出现。
它们都可以表示“通过，经过，穿过”，但是在具体用法上，却有区别。

through强调从“内部”穿过。
举例：
He passedthrough the hall.
他穿过了大厅。
over强调从物体上“翻越”，动作在位置上有高低感。
举例：
I jumped over the fence.
我从篱笆上跳了过去。
across强调从表面“横穿”。
举例：
I walked across the road.
我穿过了马路。
我们通过下面一组表达，来具体辨析这三个单词：
Tomwalked throughthe stream.
汤姆趟过了这条小溪。
Tomswam acrossthe stream.
汤姆游过了这条小溪。
Tomjumped overthe stream.
汤姆跳过了这条小溪。

从整段时间中“通过”→一段时间从开始到结束。
We had towork through the nightto get this project finished on time.

从书籍/文件中“通过”→审阅，翻阅，检查，浏览。
I usually look through newspapers after supper．

大家都要核对书页,看是否有缺页。
引申义4：
从一段关系/职业中“通过”→关系或职务的结束。
We are through.
我们的关系到此为止。
She was through with a teacher.
她不当老师了。
引申义5：
“通过”某人、某媒介、某行为。
Economies make progress through exchange.
经济在互换中获得进步。
You can look through a telescope.
